From the Pastor’s Desk JANUARY 2010

Jesus mighty name, I welcome you to this New Year and Decade.

Coming to the end of a year is always like or even more than attaining a landmark and coming to the beginning of another is a great and joyous occasion. More so, on this occasion, which marks the end of a decade and the beginning of another. Without doubt, when you cast your mind back, you can number a few people you know who started 2009 but did not finish it. While we remember them with fondness, we appreciate God for keeping us alive.

One thing you must keep in view is that the New Year gives you another opportunity to have a new start and put in the necessary changes that you ought to. No change is complete or effective if it does not start from your heart and extend to your thought. This New Year is going to be a year of great changes and it will be your opportunity for great changes. Change is in the air; it is everywhere. God is the author of change and at creation, He factored change into everything He created. He changes everything, yet He does not change because He is God. That is why He is called the unchangeable changer. My question to you today is: “Are you prepared to change and are you prepared for change?” The only way for you to move forward is to initiate desired change and to address unwanted change constructively.

Someone said that if you don’t like change, you are going to like irrelevance even less. I pray for you today that God will give you the grace to effect the necessary changes in your life that will propel you out of obscurity into limelight in Jesus name. I also pray that your life will not lapse into irrelevance. Like everyone else, you have your plans and goals set out for the year(s) ahead, but have you checked it with the one who knows the end from the beginning? He is the author of life, the beginning and the end, He knows all the seasons of your life, because He is the all knowing, all powerful God. You need Him this year and all the days of your life. Why? Because, you cannot do all those things you have planned out by yourself. If you consult Him for assistance, He will help you, because He loves you. He may choose to connect you with people who will help you or even give you the solution to the problems before you through divine ideas or strategically placing you in the place of blessing. God has a thousand and one ways to help you, so do not fail to ask Him. He has promised that those who ask will receive, so why don’t you ask, and don’t be afraid to ask and ask and ask.

I pray that this year, your change will come and it will come in a big way. However like in everything that is of God, you too have a role to play and you must not delay in playing your part and play it well.  Don’t delay in changing your ways, thoughts, associations, habits, and all those things that do not glorify God so that life in 2010 will be the best ever. Once again, congratulations for seeing 2010, may the year bring you the greatest memories ever. Have a prosperous year and I look forward to see you again.

Pastor David
