I am extremely glad and indeed excited to welcome you into August, the eighth month of the year; the month of new beginning. I also congratulate you for seeing the month of July to the end and for being part of the awesome things that happened that month.
For us, in Adonai Ambassadors Assembly, it started prophetically and on a beautiful note. The first seven days of the seventh month had been declared as a period of fasting and praying and on the very first day of the month which was also the first day of the fasting and praying, King Olakanmi was born. And so, on that high and pleasant note the month started. The month had also been cleared of all activities and vigils to allow workers to reflect and recharge for the rest of the year and no doubt, the divine inspiration of that decision became more evident when all workers met with the General Overseer at the pre FOL rally at the Excel.
Saying that it was indeed an exceedingly and glorious pre FOL rally is an understatement because it was truly exceptional as it was unusual. Many wonderful things happened- not least the new song that Daddy G.O taught us; the General Overseer also took us down memory lane to visit the ancient landmarks on which The Redeemed Christian Church of God was birthed and known for- the tripod stand of holiness, prayer and evangelism. He prophesied and challenged us to ensure the birth of revival in Europe in two years. He let us into a request he has put before God and that is that the 70th birthday gift he is asking from God is the evangelisation and revival of Europe; and he ended by giving us the assignment of planting 1,000 churches of RCCG in three months. Because only God can make this a reality, because with Him, nothing is impossible, he encouraged us to take prayer more seriously and he indeed led us into a one hour prayer session, the longest of such that I can remember in a Pre FOL rally.
This prelude to the FOL properly gave all of us high expectations for the Festival of Life and I can confidently conjecture that no one who came was disappointed. It was an awesome night in every way and respect. The attendance was record breaking, the music, drama et al were spectacular and it was on the whole a huge success; we give all the glory to God.
My closing remarks are that, the new zeal and fire we have received and the new mandate to evangelise UK and Europe should not be lost; I also believe no one needs to be sermonised or cajoled to know that FOL October 29 is a must attendance, because with God, the glory of the latter house will always be greater than the former. So expect greater things in October in Jesus name.
In the meantime, make the best use of your time in august in the place of prayer, evangelism and studying of the word of God for holy living. God bless you and see you in September.
